Founder's note

Curating, not covering.

I started Obsidian Game Expedition in 2019 after a decade of writing capsule reviews on deadline — the kind that judge a fifty-hour game in an afternoon. This is the opposite of that. We publish when a game has actually been finished, sat with, and revisited weeks later.

Everything here is made in a single room above a record shop on Johnston Street, Fitzroy. No affiliate storefronts, no review embargoes traded for access, no sponsored verdicts. Just careful writing and image-making about the medium I love.

— Callum R., editor & founder
